Autumn term week 4

In Pre-School this week we have been learning about the library and working in an office.

On Tuesday our older children went on an adventure to the library, catching the public bus from the end of the road we went into Paignton Bus Station and then walked along to the library. The children enjoyed exploring the library; looking at the books, playing on the castle, completing puzzles and finally enjoying a group reading session. We enjoyed a biscuit and a drink at the bus station as we waited for our return bus and were back in time for lunch. The children showed good listening skills, it was lovely morning!

Back in preschool we have been busy working on our computers in the office; taking phone calls and practicing our mark making skills as we take notes. In our “post room” we have been sorting letters based on their colour and for those children comfortable with colour recognition we have been using shaped envelopes.

On Wednesday we turned our hand to baking a healthy banana flapjack which we have enjoyed for snack for the rest of the week.

In our outdoor play we have been focusing on our ball skills; throwing in various ways, catching, kicking and rolling. We’ve also been using our investigative skills to see how water can travel from one end of the tube to the other. The children experimented with different height crates to make the water go down the pipe and come out the other end into the jugs.
