Summer Activites week 10

Our summer term preparations have been in full swing this week and have been the main focus for the children, they are all very eager to practice. With sports day right around the corner there has been lots of practice for the different races. We have begun working on the costumes for our end of year production and have continued to practice our sea inspired songs. The younger children have been using fabric ink and stencils to create their beach themed T-shirts and our older children turned their hands to tie dyeing.

This week we finished off the final round of primary school transition visits for our older children and it has been wonderful to see them coming back to us full of smiles and tales of all the things they’ve been playing with in their new classroom. Over the next few weeks we will continue to assist with the transition by various “new school” stories to help identify and alleviate any concerns the children may have about the upcoming transition.

It was our final forest fun this week. The children made windmills using sticks and hand drills, finished off their nature pictures and rounded off their time with a jacket potato and s’mores cooked on the campfire.

We had some special guests on Friday, 2 guinea pigs! We enjoyed meeting them and watching as they explored around the garden. Each child took a turn at holding them.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you all into preschool on Tuesday for our annual sports day. The event will start at 12 noon for you to enjoy a picnic in the garden with the children before we begin the races at 1pm. Still time to order a cream tea.
