As our sports day event is quickly approaching, this week we began practicing the various races. The children have shown great co-ordination skills and it looks set to be a lovely afternoon of fun.
For our older children the forest fun sessions continued this week; going on a nature walk to collect items to make their nature masks, whittling sticks and enjoy another camp fire cooking experience. Our younger children spent time completing their clay snails, painting them in the colour of their choice.
On Friday we had some special visitors into preschool, with 2 community police officers coming in to read the children a story. After having the chance to look at the police car, hear the different sirens and set off the lights, we all went inside for a story. After this, the officers gave the children the opportunity to look at their police kit, experiment with their body recording cameras and wear their hats. The children were fascinated by the photos of all the different police vehicles and they asked some really interesting questions.
The children have been busy preparing for Father’s Day this weekend; hand making a card and decorating a biscuit. We hope all the Fathers / Grandads / Grandpas have a wonderful day on Sunday.
