Spring Activities week 3

It is the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend therefore we spent this week completing a bird watch in our wildlife garden. We started the week making our own bird feeders by melting lard and mixing it with bird seed in various pots, ready to hang on our trees outside. In our window we set up a watching station with the binoculars and the RSPB record sheet to monitor which breeds of birds were visiting.  For our craft activities the children made pompom birds to hang from the ceiling. We also all came together to work on our cutting and sticking skills to create a giant bird using tissue paper.

Our musical instrument of the week was the guitar and we enjoyed singing our nursery rhymes as Julia played the guitar, before each having a turn at holding it and making music ourselves.

We enjoyed lots of water play this week; from washing babies on our tuff tray to playing with boats in our water table. As well as other activities such as knock and nail and small world play with dolls house and kitchens.
