Spring Activities week 9

As this weekend is Mother’s Day, this week the children have been busy creating some special gifts which they have brought home. We won’t share what they are in case they’ve been hidden away until Sunday!

On our tuff tray this week we have been exercising our fine motor skills picking flowers with tweezers or scooping them up with spoons before sorting them into colours. We’ve also been playing lots of table top games to encourage turn taking and build the children’s confidence to work cooperatively in small groups. It’s been really encouraging to see the children take these skills and use them in other areas of preschool. For example in the garden the children have been using a sand timer to take turns using the see saw.

With only a few weeks left until our end of term Easter afternoon we have begun introducing our Easter songs and the children have been learning the various tunes. Hopefully they’ve been coming home practicing them as well!
