Spring Activities week 7

It has been lovely to welcome back the children after the half term break, we hope you all enjoyed the week.

As it was Chinese New Year during the half term break, we belatedly celebrated in the earlier part of this week. For our morning snack times the children were offered rice, noodles, spring rolls and prawn crackers along with their usual fruit snack. After our snack we watched some of the footage from the celebrations and parades in London, before dragon dancing with our preschool Chinese dragon. As it is the year of the horse, our craft activity has been to create some small horses using tissue paper and cardboard tubes.

We’ve spent lots of time outside playing games and completing some of the tidying tasks in our growing area, all ready to get started when the weather allows.

In other areas of preschool we have been practicing our fine motor skills and hand / eye co-ordination with our knock and nail pictures and peg boards.

Next week we are celebrating World Book Day on Wednesday and Thursday. We have requested that the children dress up in a stripy or plain coloured top as we become pirates!
