What fun we have had this week sailing the seven seas in our pirate ship! As it was World Book day we decided to celebrate all week with lots of pirate themed fun. The children made pirate hats out of card, drew treasure maps at the drawing table and coloured in a pirate puppet to take home. Even our snack times had a pirate twist to it, with the fruit being served out of pirate ship fruit bowls!
For our maths activities this week we have been working on our number recognition and number illustration. The children were asked to count the number of pirate themed objects and circle the correct number, with some of the children being challenged a step further and asked to illustrate the same number using the maths blocks. Our younger children practiced pencil control with pirate themed pictures; having to follow the straight, zig zag and wavy lines to make the pirate reach the treasure.
In our outside play we have enjoyed time on our bikes and scooters, playing in the mud as well as panning for treasure in our sand.
Our parents evening is coming up on Wednesday 18th March and the sign up sheet will be available for you to make your appointment next week, please just ask on the door.
